Description

The highlight of this pizza is its different format from the traditional disc: in this version it looks like a “boat”, leaving plenty of space for you to add the topping of your choice. Here we prepare the homemade pizza dough and we will choose two pieces of cheese (parmesan and mozzarella), a simple and tasty option, just the way we love it!

Ingredients
  • 420 grams all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon powdered organic yeast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 60 grams shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 60 grams grated parmesan cheese
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Separate the ingredients of the pizza dough. Heat the water slightly, as it must be lukewarm to activate the yeast in the dough.

  2. Step 2

    Dissolve the yeast and sugar in the warm water and let it sit for 5 minutes. After 5 minutes, add the oil and salt and mix.

  3. Step 3

    Gradually add the sifted flour and mix with a spatula. Knead the dough inside the bowl itself, adding the flour little by little (you may not need to use all the flour).

  4. Step 4

    After kneading, the dough should be smooth and soft, as in the photo. Put it back in the bowl, cover with a cloth and let it rest for 1 hour.

  5. Step 5

    Meanwhile, mix the two grated cheeses , which will be the filling for our nacelle-shaped pizza, and preheat the oven to 200ºC.

  6. Step 6

    After the rest time, open the dough in the shape of a rectangle, as in the image below, and place the filling in a “row”, leaving space at the edges. Close the edges by twisting the dough all over the sides and ends.

  7. Step 7

    Place the pizza on a floured baking sheet and finish by brushing the melted butter all over the dough. If you like, sprinkle with a little zaatar seasoning (a blend of traditional Lebanese spices).

  8. Step 8

    Bake your Arabic pizza in a preheated oven at 200 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden.
