The hot dog with chili is nothing more than the Texas-style of eating hot dogs: in addition to the traditional sausage bread, this snack has a juicy and slightly spicy chili sauce that makes everything much, much tastier. And the best part: our version of a Texan hot dog is super easy to make!
Separate the ingredients of this hot dog with chili sauce. Cook the sausages while preparing the chili sauce.
Saute garlic and onion in olive oil in a skillet or pan over medium-low heat, until starting to brown.
Then add the ground beef and break it up with the bread spoon, so that it becomes loose and cooks faster. When the meat is cooked, then season: add the paprika, cocoa, salt, and cumin. Mix well.
Add the Worcestershire sauce, which can be substituted for shoyu (soy sauce), and mix.
Finish the preparation of this ground beef with the tomato sauce, cook for another 2 minutes and turn off. Your juicy chili sauce is ready! Reserve.
The next step is to start assembling your hot dog: open the bread and spread mayonnaise. Place the cooked sausage inside the hot dog bun.
Cover the sausage with the chili sauce while it is still hot. Other ingredients that can be included: potato chips, corn, crispy onion, etc.
And finish with mustard to taste! Your Texas-style chili hot dog is ready to delight everyone!
After adding the Worcestershire sauce, if you like, you can also add a few drops of chili sauce.
